Killarney Coastal Islands
Manoomin Mnising, Philip Edward Island, sits in the heart of Georgian Bay, just south of Killarney Provincial Park. White quartzite mountains, crystal-clear water, remote backcountry campsites, and some of the clearest skies in Ontario. The Fox Islands offer a navigation environment that rewards every skill you've developed and builds new ones every day.
This is a backcountry expedition: five days of paddling, navigation, and camping through one of the most ecologically significant stretches of freshwater coastline in the world. Your group travels as an expedition pod, navigating, cooking, and making decisions together. Everyone has an active role.

Certification Pathway
This expedition works for the KT1 and KT2 levels of the ORCKA Kayak Tripping and Guiding pathway. Come to tour with no assessment, or pair it with the matching online module to certify. Either way, the kilometres, nights, and leadership you log here count toward your progress.
Working toward KT3? KT3, the capstone, is where you cross from skilled tripper to trip leader. This expedition builds your KT1 and KT2 progress. The KT3 field component runs on our more exposed routes, like Lake Superior.

We acknowledge that Philip Edward Island and the waters around Killarney are the traditional home of the Anishinaabek, within Robinson-Huron Treaty territory and unceded territory. Philip Edward Island itself is part of the Wiikwemkoong Islands land claim.
Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory and Whitefish River First Nation, among other Anishinaabek communities, hold deep and continuing connections to this coast. We are grateful for their enduring care and support. This acknowledgement, accompanied by action, includes contributions to Indigenous-led organizations that make a lasting impact.
