How to Use the Douglas Protractor
Step 1: Click on the chart to place the protractor at your starting point. The protractor will appear with its grid aligned to North.
Step 2: Click on your destination. A bearing line will stretch from the center to your destination point, showing you the True bearing where it crosses the degree scale.
Reading the bearing: Look at where the red line crosses the outer degree markings. This is your True bearing. Add 9° for your Magnetic bearing in Georgian Bay.
Tip: In real life, you'd align the protractor's grid lines with the chart's longitude lines. Here, we've done that automatically for you!
